Hearing her phone vibrate, Eli quickly opened it up. Reading Ryder’s message, she smiled to herself softly and stuck it back into her jean pocket. Eli waited a few minutes, finally hearing someone rap on the door behind her and walk inside. She saw Ryder, pulling his hood down. ”Well hello there, gorgeous,” Said Ryder. Eli laughed slightly, tapping the seat beside her signalling the boy to sit next to her. ”Hiya, Fuck face. How’re you today?” She asked innocently, a small smile upon her lips.
Ryder accepted her invitation and gladly sat down on the seat next to her. “Fuck face. Don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing that one,” he said shaking his head. He leaned back in his seat as he scanned over the room. “How am I? Peachy. Pretty fucking bored, I guess.” He returned Eli’s smile and gave her a wink. “How are ya?” He took in his surroundings. The club was certainly different from the safe house. He wasn’t sure if it was a good or bad thing; it just was. But, he felt like he had gotten himself so used to life at the safe house that living at the club would’ve been way too different. He had had enough change.
Sitting cross legged at the so called bar in Chateaux Morgana, Eli drummed her fingers on the cold wood table. It was quiet around here today, which was a first. She sighed softly, looking around the room for any sign of life. There was a few people passed out on the floor; but nothing more than that. The blonde pulled out a small flip phone that one of the interns have given her upon arrival at the club and scrolled through her contacts, looking for a name that caught her eye. She stopped at ‘RYDER THE DRUNK’ and laughed to herself slightly, pushing the small green phone on the keypad. She placed the phone to her ear, almost immediately hearing the call go to his voicemail. ”Bitch, where are you? I’m bored. Call me back.” She snapped the phone back softly, afraid that it would break due to it’s crap quality. Eli sat there for a few moments, waiting for the boy’s call. Nothing. ”Fuck this, I’ll just text him.” She said to herself; not caring if the people on the floor thought she was mental for talking to herself. She slowly pushed a few numbers, seeing letters replace them on the screen. Eventually she wrote what she needed to and pressed send.
Eli: Fuck face, wake up. Turn your phone on. If you read this within the next few minutes, meet me in the club.
Eli sat the phone on the table and waited for a response, hoping he’d either come down or text her back.
News had broken of another group of invisibles who weren’t living at the Safe House. They were the Unseen, living in the Chateaux Morgana, the club in town that Ryder had visited with Kristen earlier in the week. It was a pretty cool place, but you could tell that there was a little tension between the two groups of invisible teenagers. Now tonight, Ryder was up late, not able to sleep and he was bored. Not many people were awake at this hour of the night, which was to be expected.
He thought he heard his phone ringing, but couldn’t find it for a few minutes. By the time he reached it, he had a voice mail from one of the girls who was at the club. He laughed as he listened to the message and almost hit redial until he saw the text. Ryder laughed aloud and shook his head. Eli was definitely his kind of girl. “Calm your pants, sweet cheeks. I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” He quickly texted her back. He pulled on some clean clothes, made sure he had his cigarettes and make his way out the door.
The night was cool and dark. He threw up his hood and walked through the streets quickly. Ryder wasn’t the scared type, but he knew he couldn’t fuck around with the hunters. He couldn’t chance anything. Arriving at the club, he rapt on the door twice. It opened up and he nodded his head, handing over his fee. He spotted the blonde and dropped his hood and walked over to her. “Well hello there, gorgeous,” he said.
